FiberMend is a prebiotic fiber formula, which means it stimulates the growth of beneficial bacteria in the GI tract.* It combines Sunfiber® – a partially hydrolyzed guar gum fiber – with rice bran, larch arabinogalactan, apple pectin, and green tea phytosome in a water-soluble blend that helps maintain healthy glycemic control (i.e., healthy blood sugar levels) and promotes regularity and optimum digestive function.* FiberMend is well-tolerated – it produces little to no bloating, cramping or gas. Sunfiber, a soluble dietary fiber made from hydrolyzed guar gum, is a versatile powder that is easily added to a wide variety of foods, beverages, and supplements. Sunfiber does not impact the flavor, color, texture, or aroma to the products to which it is added, and it offers an easy way to increase fiber in the diet.

Guar gum is a water-soluble carbohydrate derived from the seeds of the guar plant. The guar gum fiber in FiberMend is hydrolyzed, which is a controlled, natural enzymatic process that breaks down the guar gum into smaller units, which allows it to dissolve more readily while maintaining the original fiber content.* Hydrolyzing the guar gum also improves its digestibility, with the end result being less bloating, cramping, or gas.*

Larch arabinogalactan is a polysaccharide powder derived from Larix occidentalis (Western larch) that possesses important immune-enhancing properties and is an excellent source of fiber.*

Green tea phytosome is a highly absorbable complex of green tea polyphenols and phospholipids.* A study on healthy volunteers compared the absorption of 400 mg of green tea polyphenols as a non-complexed standardized extract with the same extract complexed with phospholipids – Greenselect® Phytosome. The peak blood concentration of the antioxidant EGCG from the Greenselect Phytosome measured over six hours was approximately twice that of the non-complexed green tea extract.*

Green tea polyphenols are powerful antioxidants due to their particular flavonoid structures.* Their glutathione-sparing activity is well documented and they also help balance inflammatory cytokines.* In addition, research suggests green tea supports healthy prebiotic activity.*

Prebiotic fibers are intended to produce short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) in the gut via fermentation. However, the rate that SCFAs are produced in the gut is very important, because if the fermentation occurs too rapidly (as is the case with inulin and other soluble fibers), then the result can be an excess of uncomfortable bloating and flatulence. FiberMend is different from other prebiotic fiber formulas because it contains Sunfiber. Because the fermentation process of Sunfiber is slower, it results in a higher total amount of SCFAs produced over a longer period of time, which results in less gas, bloating, and GI discomfort.

FiberMend is naturally flavor-neutral, which allows it to be easily mixed in water or a preferred beverage without changing the beverage's flavor. FiberMend does not contain any sweeteners and is safe to use every day.
